01 / Biography

Patricia Urquiola

Born in Oviedo in 1961, Patricia Urquiola graduated in Milan in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. After working with De Padova and Piero Lissoni, she opened her own studio in 2001. Her practice spans furniture, interiors and objects. Olivari’s archive credits her with Conca, Conca L, Lucy and Adamant; Magma joined the range in 2026.

Our perspective

Touch completes the visual experience

A handle’s surface changes with light, but the hand also informs the choice. Compare Conca’s cavity with Magma’s texture and Lucy’s profile. Our reading sees these as different ways of experiencing detail. Coordinate the door, handle and nearby metal elements together, using finish codes and technical sheets as the references for an order.
